The Lord is There

One of the God’s names is Yahweh Shammah—The

Lord is There. He is there, always and everywhere at once.

How can God be here and there? Here in my home and across the country, and in another part of the world all at once? I don’t know how he can be in more than one place at a time, but there’s a lot I don’t understand about God. He’s bigger than I am and I can’t comprehend it all. That’s where faith comes in and why it’s called faith.

Even though I don’t know how God can be everywhere at once, I sure am glad He is. Whether I’m driving to a friend’s house, or sitting at home reading a book in front of the fire, He’s there with me.

When I’m anxiously awaiting test results at the doctor’s office, or staying up waiting for someone to call or come home, He’s there with me.

And I can talk to Him regardless of how I feel. He’s there, and He cares, and He will stay with me even if I can’t sense His presence. Since God never changes, I can count on him to always be with me. I have to stick with what I know about His character, regardless of how I feel.
What about you? Have you ever felt God’s presence or lack of it? How do or did you get through it? Let’s talk about it.

Love this, Ellen! It's a glorious thing to sense God's presence but you're right -- our faith comes in when we don't sense it, but remain confident that He IS still with us!
